Great Book

I'm in the process of reading French Lessons: Adventures with a Knife, Fork, and Corkscrew.
Hysterical! My favorite so far is the chapter on frog legs and the frog festival in Vittel. :) I'm not sure I could handle being French if it requires drinking wine at breakfast. But maybe that's only on festival weekends...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. ;)

Katy's 3rd

HAHAHA! Kids are funny. These are two of the pictures in which I was trying to get both Katy and Hannah to smile for the camera at the same time. The first one is entitled "Bookends". The second one is one of MANY pictures where Hannah has her arms out, trying in vain to get someone to pick her up off the airtrack.

Oh well, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KATY!!!

Childhood

Childhood

Childhood, sweet and sunny childhood,
With its careless, thoughtless air,
Like the verdant, tangled wildwood,
Wants the training hand of care.
See it springing all around us --
Glad to know, and quick to learn;
Asking questions that confound us;
Teaching lessons in its turn.
Who loves not its joyous revel,
Leaping lightly on the lawn,
Up the knoll, along the level,
Free and graceful as a fawn?
Let it revel; it is nature
Giving to the little dears
Strength of limb, and healthful features,
For the toil of coming years.

I am finally posting pictures of my "75 Cupcakes" that I made for the church carnival. They are all handpiped and decorated with hearts. Although, this picture was taken after some of them got eaten by eager little baby-girl hands. Oh yeah, and Marcus ate them, too. Shock!

To the left are the two oddballs. A flower (all the rest are hearts) and a "Pick Flick" for Lauren.

"You look like you could use a cupcake!!!

Ok, that's enough suspense. Here it is, all shiny and new! I painted it white and then decoupage'd little Mary Engelbreit characters on it. In the middle is a coloring sheet I downloaded and colored with colored pencils. I also put the girl's names and pictures on it! I still need to pen in some cute little flowers and vines to fill in the spaces...but it's almost done!

Girl's Table Before Picture

And you'll have to wait in suspense for the after....mwuahaha!

Please disregard the bag of groceries off to the left. :)
